The Living Bung Yarnda project is a series of environmental monitoring training sessions on February 20th and 21st. All interested community members are invited to learn how monitor birds, fish, water quality, vegetation and the impacts of invasive deer and learn more about this exciting project.
“The training sessions will equip people with the tools that environmental managers use to better understand the impacts and changes in the lake and its catchment” says Dr. Jess Reeves, project facilitator of Living Bung Yarnda. During the training sessions, participants will be provided information on data collection protocols, communicating and submitting data to citizen science databases as well as how to extract and use the data.
The sessions – held at various suitable venues around Lake Tyers – will be led by monitoring specialists from organisations across East Gippsland, including the CMA, Birdlife East Gippsland, FishCare, Landcare and Wildlife Unlimited. You are welcome to come to as many or few as you like.
